New Kensington Police investigate overnight shooting

New Kensington, Pa. – Police in New Kensington were dispatched to the 1700 block of Fairmont Drive about 1:00 am Tuesday morning after a male was reported to be shot in the legs.

At the scene, Sgt. Dion Wagner said the male told police he was robbed by an individual in a black truck. The male victim was being treated by New Kensington EMS crews and subsequently transported to Allegheny General Hospital.

At least 6 police officers responded to the scene and were seen scouring a yard in the 1700 block of Fairmont looking for evidence. Fairmont Drive was blocked off to to traffic as police were waiting for Westmoreland County Detectives to arrive.
