New Kensington, Pa. – A New Kensington man has died as a result from his injuries in a motorcycle crash that occurred just before 10:00 pm Wednesday night in the parking lot of the Rite Aid Pharmacy near Stevenson Boulevard.

The man has been identified as 50 year-old Kenneth James Imm of New Kensington. New Kensington Police Chief Bob Deringer said his department received a call informing them of the passing of Mr. Imm.

Imm had been treated at the scene by paramedics as Life Flight was being dispatched to the Valley High School parking lot for a landing zone. It appeared the operator of the bike was cutting through the parking lot of Festa Chiropractic headed towards the Rite-Aid when he struck a 5″ high concrete island separating the side of the store from the front.

A witness at the scene said he saw the bike flipping several times. The man landed approximately 30′ from the island. A medical helicopter landed at the school where medical crews loaded the man into the helicopter for transport to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
