Motorcyclist dies after crash in Allegheny Township

Allegheny Township, Pa. – A Lawrence County man has died from his injuries after a two-vehicle crash on SR 356 in Allegheny Township just after noon Wednesday.

Allegheny Township Police Chief John Fontaine said the man who died after the crash was identified as Jimmie Bucci, age 89 of Elwood City. Chief Fontaine said Bucci had just left a residence in Lower Burrell and had been traveling on White Cloud Road towards SR 356. Bucci pulled from the stop sign and into the path of a Northbound pickup truck driven a 40 year-old man from Sarver. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.

Air transport medical helicopter had been dispatched to the scene near the Allegheny Township Fire hall and landed however air transport was cancelled after Mr. Bucci’s condition escalated to immediate ground transport.

The victim was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Earlier in the day on White Cloud Road, fire crews closed the roadway due to an accident after a car struck a utility pole bringing wires down.

The crash on SR 356 remains under investigation.
