South Bend Township, Pa. – Multiple fire companies responded to a massive garage fire on Long Run Road about 9:00 pm Tuesday evening in South Bend Township, Armstrong County.

According to online information, the truck garage is owned by STIVASON AND SONS TRUCKING INC at 390 North Long Run Road. With no ample water supply on site to battle the blaze, fire crews tankered water to the fire scene from about a mile away.

Authorities at the scene could not provide any details as to the cause of the fire. Inside the structure appeared to be burned out truck-tractors as Young Township’s Ariel truck poured a steady stream of water on remaining hot spots in different locations of the structure. Some of those hot spots were reported to be possibly waste oil or other similar products. Crews were not able to get inside the structure due to intense heat and a report of propane-gas tanks inside the building.
