Man dies after coming in contact with dangling power lines in West Deer Township

West Deer Township, Pa. – A man in West Deer Township has died after he came into contact with a low power line at the scene of a brush fire in West Deer Township early Thursday evening.

The incident occurred at 203 McKrell Road about 6:30 p.m. as firefighters began cleaning up from the fire. Sources report the homeowner was inspecting damages to his property and somehow came into contact with the dangling power lines.

The name of the victim has not been released. County homicide detectives are investigating.
