Male shot 3 times in Harrison Township’s Sheldon Park; suspect on the run

Harrison Township, Pa. – Police in Harrison Township responded to an overnight shooting in Sheldon Park after a male was shot 3 times by a possible known actor.

The call came out about 2:00 am as police units from Brackenridge and Harrison Township responded within minutes to an area on Park Avenue near buildings 40 & 41. Several witnesses at the scene said the victim was seen running between the buildings after being shot and crossed the street telling residents outside he needed to get to the hospital.

The victim was immediately transported to Allegheny Valley Hospital by personal vehicle. Citizens Hose EMS was dispatched to the scene, but were called off after Allegheny County 911 advised medics the victim had left the scene. Harrison Police Sgt. Justin Bouch, along with assistance from Brackeridge Police combed Park Avenue in an attempt to locate the suspect and casings but neither were found. Harrison Officer Neil Makowski went to Allegheny Valley Hospital after learning the victim went by POV.

About 20 minutes after AKVNEWS.COM arrived on scene, 2 Pennsylvania State Police units arrived on scene to assist in locating the shooter. Troopers immediately geared up with heavy fire power, walked South on Park Avenue, up a set of steps and scoured the area between the buildings to the lower end of building 41 in an attempt to locate the suspect at a residence. The suspect was not located. A short time later, blood evidence from the victim was found on a sidewalk and across the street where the victim went to get help.

While all of the above was occurring, County 911 dispatch put out a BOLO for a red SUV Mitsubishi that was later stopped on SR 28 in the Harmar Area. The results of that stop are unknown.

Sgt. Bouch said the victim was shot at least 3 times, twice in the back and once in the arm. Residents in the area said they heard at least 4 or 5 shots. The victim was later transferred to Allegheny General Hospital. It was not immediately known if his injuries were life-threatening.

Allegheny County Homicide Detectives arrived on scene along with several more state troopers. The investigation continues into this shooting incident. As of 4:40 am, the suspect remained at large.
