Kiskiminetas Township Police remind residents to post house numbers

From Facebook – PUBLIC SAFETY NOTICE:

Kiski Township, Pa. – Several years ago Kiskiminetas Twp enacted an ordinance requiring all residence and businesses within the twp to properly post the house/ business number so that it may be seen clearly from the roadway to allow emergency personnel to quickly locate the property in which they are responding to.

The number signs require 3 inch high reflective numbers on a green background posted to be clearly visible and unobstructed when viewed from the road. Building signs and numbers shall be posted so they clearly indicate which building they refer to. In the case of a strip mall or other multiple buildings/ businesses together the number sign shall be displayed at the main entrance to the business.

AS THE FALL/ WINTER SEASON APPROACHES ANY HOME OR BUSINESS NOT PROPERLY DISPLAYING THE NUMERIC SIGN WILL RECEIVE A WARNING FROM THE POLICE ORDINANCE OFFICER AND BE GIVEN 15 DAYS TO COMPLY. ANYONE NOT COMPLYING *WILL* BE CITED UNTIL THE SIGN IS DISPLAYED.

This ordinance was enacted to help us respond quickly in your time of emergency and to avoid any delays and confusion in the response. It is of great importance to your police, fire and EMS that we provide the proper service as quickly as possible to help our residents.

Please take this opportunity to check your property and assure that it is properly posted to avoid receiving a warning/ citation for failure to comply.
