Inmate death at Allegheny County Jail

Pittsburgh, Pa. – Warden Orlando Harper released a statement from the Allegheny County Jail and said at approximately 8:55 AM on November 6, a medical emergency was called when a female inmate was found unresponsive by corrections officers.

Medical and correctional officers performed CPR until paramedics arrived and took over. Their live saving measures were unsuccessful and the female was declared deceased at 9:12 AM.

Allegheny County Police are investigating. Information about the inmate, including cause and manner of death, will be issued by the Allegheny County Office of the Medical Examiner.
