Flash flood watch remains in effect through Saturday afternoon

Alle-Kiski Valley, Pa. – The Flash Flood Watch continues for:

* Portions of western Maryland, Pennsylvania, and northern West Virginia, including the following areas, in western Maryland, Garrett. In Pennsylvania: Fayette, Fayette Ridges, Indiana, Westmoreland and the Westmoreland Ridges. In northern West Virginia: Eastern Preston, Eastern Tucker, Preston Ridges of Eastern Monongalia and Northwestern Preston and Western Tucker.

* Through Saturday afternoon

* Shower and thunderstorm coverage will increase this afternoon. Periods of heavy rain are possible, especially later this afternoon and evening, with rain expected to taper off toward mid-morning Saturday.

* System totals of 2 to 3 inches of rain are expected, with some isolated higher totals. Such rainfall could lead to flash flooding.
