Fire crews battle 2nd floor house fire in Leechburg

Leechburg, Pa. – Multiple fire departments responded to a house fire in the 400 block of Washington Avenue displacing at least 6 residents who lost most of their belongings.

Fire sources on scene said the 7:00 pm fire was mostly contained to the second floor which was gutted. Fire crews were able to get a quick knock-down on the 2 story structure that included a very large 1-story rear portion of the structure.

A Leechburg firefigher said the Red Cross and The Salvation Army were contacted and are expected to help the displaced residents. Donations to help the family can contact the Leechburg Volunteer Fire Department.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
