Arnold, Pa. – Police in Arnold have filed multiple felony charges against two Arnold men who allegedly carjacked the driver’s vehicle at gunpoint along Horne Boulevard late Monday evening just after 5:00 pm.
According to the police criminal complaint, the male driver had just finished up doing some work for a friend on 5th Avenue in Arnold and was traveling North on Horne Boulevard where he was stopped by 2 males at the intersection of 18th Street and Horne Boulevard.
The victim stated one of the males pulled a black automatic handgun and placed it to his head and told him to get out of the vehicle. The victim complied with the order and both males entered the vehicle and drove off. A police BOLO was subsequently put out on the vehicle and both suspects.
About an hour later, New Kensington Police stopped the vehicle fitting the exact description in the 1200 block of Kenneth Avenue. The suspects were positively identified by the victim and arrested.
Charged in the incident were Louis Charles Scott, age 58 of Arnold and Charles Darnel Jones, age 44 also of Arnold. Both men were charged with F1 Robbery Of Motor Vehicle, F3 Theft By Unlawful Taking-Movable Property and F1 Criminal Conspiracy Engaging – Robbery Of Motor Vehicle.
Additional Charges: Scott – F2 Receiving Stolen Property and M Use/Poss Of Drug Paraphernalia after NKPD were conducting an inventory of the victim’s vehicle and located drug paraphernalia.
Additional Charges: Jones – F2 Receiving Stolen Property, S Driving While Operator Privileges Suspended Or Revoked, 2 Counts M Int Poss Controlled Substance By Per Not Reg and F Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver.
Both men faced a Preliminary Arraignment before the Honorable Magisterial District Judge Frank J. Pallone Jr. earlier this week and were released/ordered to have no contact with the victim.
A Preliminary Hearing is scheduled on 09/20/2018 @ 2:15 pm before Magisterial District Judge Frank J. Pallone Jr.
