Dog rescued from cliff in Harrison Hills Park Saturday afternoon

Harrison Township, Pa. – Fire crews were called to Harrison Hills Park Saturday afternoon after a woman and her dog became stuck over a hillside.

Station 167 and 169 were dispatched at 5:22 pm to an area over the hillside from Overlook Grove, located in the right lower section of the park. Sources at the scene told AKVNEWS.COM the female was able to self extricate from the hillside and received only minor EMS treatment.

The dog was still unaccounted for and reported to be approximately a mile and a half back a trail. Harrison command requested ATV’s to the scene to help locate the dog. Ropes were utilized and a system was set in place to rescue the dog with a harness.

Assisting at the Scene were Stations Harrison Stations 167 and 169 along with Frazer Stations 159 and 160. Also assisting were Station 27,110EMS and the Allegheny County Police Department.

Harrison Hill was put on standby for the township while the rescue incident was taking place.
