Leechburg woman dies after possible domestic dispute in Lower Burrell

Lower Burrell, Pa. – (UPDATE @ 8:54 AM Friday Morning) Lower Burrell Police have released an update and reported a woman has died after a possible domestic dispute in Lower Burrell.

Lower Burrell Police Sgt. Zack Beam said in his report 49 year-old Michele Kerr, age 49 of Leechburg had suffered injuries to her head and body. Kerr was transported to Allegheny Valley Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police say the preliminary investigation revealed that Kerr and her boyfriend James Jenniches, age 51 of Vandergrift may have been involved in a domestic argument. Kerr may have been on the cover of Jenniches’ pickup truck as it was traveling on the roadway and fallen off.

Jenniches was arrested for DUI. The investigation is ongoing.

(ORIGINAL STORY)Police in Lower Burrell are investigating an overnight incident after a woman is found on the roadway near the intersection of Wildlife Lodge Road and SR 56 about 11:45 pm Thursday evening.

Lower Burrell Detective Scott Cardinas told AKVNEWS when police arrived on scene, CPR had been initiated on a woman who possibly fell out of the back of a pickup truck. Police said it was not immediately known how the woman ended up on the pavement in the middle of the roadway approximately 100′ from the stoplight at SR 56.

Several evidence markers were placed on the roadway by Westmoreland County Detective Tom Klawinski. Detective Klawinski took a sample of the blood on the roadway and photographed the roadway scene including the rear bumper area of the pickup truck.

Lower Burrell Police had a man in handcuffs at the scene who was subsequently placed in a patrol unit for transport to Allegheny Valley Hospital. Detective Cardinas said the woman was transported to Allegheny Valley Hospital. The extent of her injuries are unknown.

Firefighters from Station 69 were called to assist with lighting the scene and blocking traffic flow on Wildlife Lodge Road.
