Penn Hills, Allegheny County – This morning, at approximately 5:09 a.m., the Penn Hills Police and paramedics were dispatched to the intersection of Frankstown Road and Robinson Boulevard in
response to 9-1-1 calls about a shooting.
There they found a 29-year-old male suffering from a single gunshot wound to the abdomen. The victim was transported to a local trauma hospital where he was listed in critical condition.
Detectives from the Allegheny County Police Homicide Unit responded to the scene. It was determined the victim had been at the intersection of Overbrook Road and Frankstown Road waiting for a bus when he was shot. Two people approached the intersection on foot from Overbrook Road and shot at the victim. They then ran on foot along Overbrook Road. The victim ran across the street to the BP gas station.
At this time, there is no suspect description to release and the motive for the shooting is not exceptionally clear.
