County Police Seeking Information on Homicide in Penn Hills

PENN HILLS – On Thursday, October 19, 2017, at approximately 10:24 p.m., Penn Hills Police were dispatched to the 7200 block of Schley Street in response to a 9-1-1 call about a man found inside a residence with apparent gunshot wounds.

Police say they found Jerry Alston, age 39, dead inside of a residence with apparent gunshot wounds. Alston was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives from the Allegheny County Police Homicide Unit responded to the scene and initiated an investigation. At this time, the motive for the shooting is unclear and there is no information on the suspect(s).
