Alle-Kiski Valley, Pa. – Firefighters in several communities have been dispatched for brush fires after high winds and spring warmth begins to dry out weeds, brush and leaves.

Crews in Upper Burrell and Allegheny Township are battling a brush fire along Manchester Hill Road and crews have just been dispatched in several locations in the Greensburg and southern areas of the county.

Tarentum has been dispatched for a mulch fire near Grandview Elementary School. Crews in Frazer are responding to a fire on a hillside somewhere near the East Deer exit ramp.

Residents are urged not to burn during heavy winds that cause a fire out of control to spread very quickly. Winds are currently out of the SW @ 16 mph, gusting to 40 mph.
