Harrison Township, Allegheny County – At approximately 2:14 a.m. today, the Harrison Township police and paramedics were dispatched to the area around Building 40 in the Sheldon apartment
complex on Park Avenue.
There they found a 27-year-old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he was listed in critical condition. Detectives from the Allegheny County Police Homicide Unit responded to the scene. Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that Omar Sandling was the person who did the shooting.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Sandling charging him with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and weapons violations. Sandling is a 44-year-old male described as 5’11” tall,
200 pounds with facial hair and bald head. He has ties to the Garfield and Sheridan sections of the City of Pittsburgh as well as the Harrison Township area.
Sandling was last seen driving a 2017 red Mitsubishi Outlander bearing Pennsylvania registration KGK 5993. Anyone sighting Sandling should call 911 immediately.
