Arnold Police arrest New Kensington man in possession of crack cocaine

Arnold, Pa. – A New Kensington man is arrested after a traffic stop in the 1700 block of Freeport Road early Friday afternoon when an Arnold Police officer observed a suspect as part of an ongoing investigation in conjunction with the Western Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Drug Task Force.

Arnold Law Enforcement Officer Wes Biricocchi said Broderick L. Shannon, age 60 of New Kensington was pulled over and found to be in possession of 7.5 grams of crack cocaine. Officer Biricocchi said Shannon admitted to having drugs and while attempting to take him into custody, a struggle ensued.

Shannon was charged with F1 Aggravated Assault, F Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, M2 Resist Arrest/Other Law Enforce, M Int Poss Controlled Substance By Per Not Reg and (S) Dr Unregistered Vehicle.

Officer Biricocchi was assisted by Arnold Police Chief Eric Doutt, Officer Santucci and NK PD.

A Preliminary Hearing is scheduled on 01/04/2018 @ 10:00 am Magisterial District Judge Frank J. Pallone Jr. Bail was set at $15,000 unsecured.
