Arnold firefighters make quick stop on duplex house fire

Arnold, Pa. – Firefighters in Arnold responded to a working house fire in the 1700 block of 3rd Avenue about 11:30 pm Thursday night.

Arnold #1 Assistant Fire Chief Brian Gouza said crews were dispatched to the 3rd Avenue location for a possible duplex explosion. Upon arrival at the scene, fire was located in both sides of the duplex. Firefighters entered the structure and performed an aggressive attack knocking the fire down quickly.

At the rear of the structure, heavy fire could be seen inside but was quickly extinguished by crews. It was not immediately known if the structure was occupied or how the fire started.

Assisting Arnold fire departments were New Kensington VFD, Lower Burrell Station #69 RIT, Citizen’s Hose Station #167, New Kensington EMS and Arnold Police department.

No injuries were reported.
