Apollo man jailed for Burglary and Theft

Apollo, Pa. – An Apollo man is arrested after stealing items from a garage in Oklahoma Borough on January 2nd subsequently turning himself into Kiski Valley State Police.

Chad Ryan Kirchartz, age 32 of Apollo is accused of Burglary after a resident returns a call to 911 for an alarm activation that he was cancelling and within minutes dialed 911 again indicating he was chasing a male actor who had stolen items from his garage.

PSP Kiski responded to the scene on Willow Run Road but was not able to locate the actor. Interviews were conducted and video surveillance was reviewed leading police to Kirchartz as the alleged actor.

An arrest warrant was obtained for Kirchartz who turned himself into state police on January 10 where he was arrested and transported to the Westmoreland County Jail.

Kirchartz Charges: F2 Burglary – Not Adapted for Overnight Accommodation, No Person Present, F2 Crim Tres-Break Into Structure, F2 Receiving Stolen Property, M1 Theft By Unlawful Taking-Movable Prop and M3 Def Tres Actual Communication.

A Preliminary Hearing is scheduled on 01/23/2018 @ 11:00 am before the Honorable Magisterial District Judge Cheryl J. Peck-Yakopec.
