Apollo house suffers major damages in late morning fire

Apollo Borough, Pa. – Multiple fire units responded to a blazing house fire at 313 South Forth Street just after 11:30 am Thursday morning that was fueled by heavy winds causing additional damages to a neighboring residence.

Heavy black smoke could be see from a mile away as firefighters attempted to gain control of the fire and prevent the spread next door. Fire crews worked on an interior attack and at one point were ordered to evacuate the structure for fear of roof collapse. Murrysville Medic One arrived on scene to provide exhausted firefighters rehab, medical checks and hydration.

There were no reported injuries in the blaze. It was not immediately known if the structure was a total loss. The cause of the fire remains under investigation and AKVNEWS.COM will update this story as more details are released.
