The raid was swift moving as the Allegheny County Swat Team, drug task force agents from the State Attorney General’s Office and Harrison Township Police rolled down Park Avenue to the target location at 213 Park Avenue. The SWAT vehicle was seen making a right turn into the grassy area in front of the row housing where team members immediately took up positions as 3 successive flash bangs were set off commencing the start of the raid. SWAT immediately entered the residence of 213 in search of their target suspects. No suspects were located but a 5 year-old child was found alone in the residence.

Harrison Township Police Chief Mike Klein said the girl’s mother, Beverly Guy, age 20 of Park Avenue was being walked to a Port Authority bus stop near the BP gas station in Natrona Heights by Jerel Smith, age 24 of New Kensington. Upon returning to the residence, Chief Klein said Jerel Smith fled the area after seeing heavy police presence. Chief Klein said his main concern was for the safety of the child after learning she was left home alone in the residence.

Agents were able to seize quantities of fentanyl, heroin, cocaine and marijuana in the raid. Chief Klein said Guy and Smith are facing several charges including Possession, Possession w/intent to deliver, and endangering the welfare of a child.
