5 Injured in Lower Burrell head-on crash

Lower Burrell, Pa. – Heavy car part debris littered the roadway as police, fire and EMS crews in Lower Burrell responded to a 2-vehicle head-on crash just before the 11:00 pm hour Thursday night.

The accident occurred in the 700 block of Greensburg Road as fire crews from Station #54 Kinloch worked to free the driver of a blue sedan trapped inside the vehicle. Two medical helicopters landed in the parking lot of the Kinloch fire station but only one person was air-lifted while the remaining 4 patients were ground transported.

Lower Burrell Sgt. Brendon Noll said the Eastbound red Nissan crossed the centerline striking a blue sedan head-on. The blue sedan had 3 occupants in the vehicle and the red Nissan was occupied by 2 people.

One patient was reported to have a broken arm. Injuries to the other patients was not immediately known. State Police had been notified for reconstruction of the incident. Lower Burrell Police was assisted by New Kensington Police. Lower Burrell EMS was assisted by 271 Allegheny Valley Hospital.
